Agilent's BL21(DE3) Competent Cells are designed for high-level protein expression using T7 RNA polymerase-based systems. These E. coli cells are ideal for expressing recombinant proteins from T7 promoter-driven vectors. The product includes 5 tubes, each containing 0.2 ml of chemically competent cells, providing high transformation efficiency and compatibility with a wide range of protein expression applications. BL21(DE3) cells are deficient in both lon and ompT proteases, reducing degradation of expressed proteins and making them suitable for producing proteins that are sensitive to proteolysis.
