BL21-Gold Competent Cells from Agilent Technologies are designed for high-efficiency transformation and protein expression in E. coli. These cells are derived from the B F ompT hsdS(rB mB) dcm+ Tet^r gal endA Hte genotype, optimized for high-level expression of recombinant proteins using T7 RNA polymerase-based systems. The BL21-Gold strain is deficient in proteases Lon and OmpT, reducing degradation of expressed proteins. These cells are suitable for applications requiring tight control of protein expression and are compatible with a variety of expression vectors. Each lot is tested for transformation efficiency and performance in protein expression workflows.
