BL21-Gold(DE3)pLysS Competent Cells from Agilent Technologies are designed for high-efficiency protein expression in E. coli. These cells combine the BL21-Gold(DE3) strain, which is deficient in both lon and ompT proteases, with the pLysS plasmid that expresses T7 lysozyme to reduce basal expression of T7 RNA polymerase. This makes them ideal for expressing toxic or difficult proteins. The product is supplied as 10 x 0.1 ml aliquots, providing convenience for multiple transformation experiments.
