Agilent's BL21-CodonPlus (DE3)-RP-X Competent Cells are engineered E. coli cells designed to enhance the expression of eukaryotic proteins that contain codons rarely used in E. coli. These cells carry extra copies of tRNA genes for arginine (AGG, AGA) and proline (CCC) codons, improving translation efficiency and yield of proteins with rare codons. The DE3 lysogen provides T7 RNA polymerase for high-level expression from T7 promoters. The RP-X variant is optimized for high transformation efficiency and robust protein production, making it suitable for challenging protein expression projects in research and biotechnology applications.
