The Tecan RE54021 Melatonin ELISA is a competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay designed for the quantitative determination of melatonin in human serum, plasma, saliva, and urine. This kit provides all necessary reagents and standards for the assay, enabling sensitive and specific detection of melatonin levels. The assay is based on the competition between melatonin in the sample and a fixed amount of enzyme-labeled melatonin for binding sites on a specific antibody. After incubation and washing, the substrate is added, and the resulting color intensity is inversely proportional to the concentration of melatonin in the sample.
